• Sugar gliders need protection, and occasionally rescuing, from natural disasters and destructive anthropogenic activity.

  • Each year in Australia, fire services respond to between 45,000 and 60,000 reports of bushfires, killing and severely impacting arboreal marsupials as well as other wildlife.

  • Rescue and relief work involves expensive medical care and treatment in which individual establishments are being exhausted.

  • Many organisations use their own funds and voluntary hours to protect and preserve wildlife facing these continuous threats.

  • We want to protect sugar gliders in their natural habitat, and thus conserve biodiversity.

  • As a small business, we are pushing to raise awareness and eventually donate and fund crucial research for gliders and other native species. Our funds will contribute towards projects aiming to protect them from illegal pet trade practices, logging and natural disasters.

Australian Wildlife Society, founded in 1909, is a national not-for-profit wildlife conservation organisation.  We are dedicated to conserving Australian wildlife (flora and fauna) through national environmental education, public awareness, advocacy, hands-on wildlife conservation work, and community involvement.
